Catherine of Alexandria is a thriving, well-resourced Catholic school located in the southwest suburb of Oak Lawn.
Our school is part of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which is one of the largest private school systems in the nation.
We are seeking an energetic, motivated teacher to join our junior high team.
The teacher in this position will lead a 7th grade homeroom and teach departmental science to 7th and 8th grade students.
This teacher will also teach two Social Studies classes.

We have an updated junior high Science curriculum and offer the support of an experienced, collaborative junior high team.
In addition to the Archdiocesan salary scale, we are offering an additional stipend to teachers that choose to join St.
Catherine this year.
Stipend opportunities are also offered through moderating extracurricular activities and participating on committees.
Responsibilities The teacher in this position will have a 7th grade homeroom and teach departmental science to 7th and 8th grade.
Expectations include, but are not limited to:
establish and maintain a positive classroom environment plan engaging lessons that are aligned to the curriculum and integrate technology use formative and summative assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction collaborate with the other junior high teachers, science teachers, and other faculty members maintain communication with parents establish an equitable grading policy and post grades weekly model the Catholic faith participate in ongoing professional development comply with all Archdiocesan requirements and handbook expectations Minimum Qualifications Bachelor degree State teaching licensure (we accept pending and out of state licensure) Preferred Qualifications Science endorsement 1-3 years experience teaching, preferably science Practicing Catholic Salary Commensurate with experience based on Archdiocesan salary scale Benefits The Archdiocese of Chicago offers full-time employees a comprehensive health plan, dental plan, 403b, disability insurance and generous paid parental leave.
